Bas relief by Roger Desserprit, France, 1960 Hand sculpted in concrete Roger Desserprit (1923–1985) was a French painter and sculptor associated with geometric abstraction and the MADI movement. Trained at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, he developed a distinctive practice that blended biomorphic forms with geometric rigor, working in materials such as wood, metal, concrete, and bronze. His sculptures and reliefs explore the interplay between form, light, and spatial tension. Desserprit’s works are held in several public collections, including the Musée de Grenoble, the Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris, and the Musée des Ursulines in Mâcon.
